Let's face it. Finding a special gift for a very special friend can be an adventure. You most sincerely want something to express your relationship. We know what you mean when you say "I'll know it when I see it!"
Our little gift store is not so little. Visit once and you will visit again and again, because you can't see it all. We really appreciate so many Brevard residents who bring their out of town guests to The Pear Tree (Thank you!)
Tami and John travel extensively meeting artists and craftspeople and finding funky, eclectic, functional and beautiful items for your selection. Always changing, we're not even going to try to post everything on a website.
We want to help you in finding the perfect gift for your friends or something special for your home. Please, stop reading this website, bike, drive or stroll to historic Cocoa Village and visit us.
We enjoy cooking and sharing meals with our friends. Created by a family in Oregon, 'Tin Woodsman" pewter designers craft measuring cups. Before celebrity Paula Dean discovered these, we used this set in our home (click to zoom for details)
Speaking of entertaining - for your friends (or yourself) we work with Sharon & her husband who run travel tours to fine eateries. They put together CDs of various type of music and combine the music with menus. When at The Pear Tree be sure to check out "Music & Menus".

For friends who enjoy a bottle of wine, The Pear Tree has a wide selection of entertaining accessories. You may like something simple like unbreakable 'glasses' for entertaining on the pool deck or fancy bright colors in a Martini glass. Wine stoppers and bottle tags. CorkPop (and re-fills).
Tami discovered a 'standing cheese spreader' and we just had to say 'why didn't I think of this?"
For me, the morning begins with a hot cup of coffee. You probably have a few friends like that. Created by two ladies in Colorado, a unique and useful gift is a combination coffee scoop and huge alligator clip to keep the coffee bag tightly closed.
Tami and Cheryl talk on the phone to design the colors and cute little add-ons that make each one unique. Last spring during school vacation, Cheryl and her daughter visited Cocoa Beach and finally she and Tami met in person.
The art of beading on wire was popular in the United States in the early 20th century. Today the very finest (and very expensive) creations are hand-crafted in Africa. Local Merritt Island artist, Kristen Appleton, started designing beaded geckos in 2001.
Galzanized wire is wrapped and twisted to form the body. Then hundreds of glass beads in a rainbow of colors are tied into the wire frame. The process of wire bending is an intricate and difficult art, requiring great strength and skill.
Kristen and her husband worked with talented artists in both Africa and China rediscovering the process. Today they employ a few dozen people in rural China - mostly women who previously had no economic opportunity. Kristen now accomplishes two personal goals: Creating beautiful and whimsical wire-beaded art and helping put people to work in a socially responsible way.
Greeting Cards - a large and very funny selection for birthdays, get well, retirement and just to say "thinking of you". It's ok to stand in the hallway and read the cards and laugh out loud.
Garden Flags - an ever-changing selection of over 100 high quality flags and some funny new designs of stuffed animals relaxing in a hammock. Parrots and pigs, cats and flamingos. Express yourself!
Napkins - fun paper cocktail napkins, fancy printed linen hand towels. Some are pre-packaged and Tami ties with raffia to create a nice gift presentation.
Not all men are great gift shoppers (duh?). We love when guys come in with a written note that says "please find me this at The Pear Tree". Guys don't worry. Tami, Beverly, Susan, Marilyn and Cindy each know how to help you select a perfect gift. That's a gift that says "I love you and I really thought hard about finding this something special for you". Let's us help you select something like a small trinket jeweled box, a beautiful handsewn travel bag to protect her jewelry or maybe a glass perfume bottle.
Grilling Accessories - have you seen the new FireWire? Fire Wire® Flexible Grilling Skewer is an ingenious cable-style grilling skewer that makes grilling easier than ever before. Made of 100% food grade stainless steel, Fire Wire® offers flexibility like no other skewer on the market. Fire Wire® is twice as long as a traditional skewer and comes with a lifetime guarantee. With Fire Wire® you do not have to touch the food twice; simply marinate in a bag on Fire Wire® and place the food on your grill.
PaperWeights and glass creations. John's sister, Beth, lives in Seattle. During a visit we explored the many craftshops in downtown Seattle. It seems wood working and glass blowing artists have gravitated to the northwest.
We discovered Glass Eye Studio, met the owners and artists and find ourselves captivated with their celestial series of paperweights. Maybe it's being on the Space Coast, maybe it's that each globe is unique and crafted in part with ash from Mount St. Helen's, maybe it's each time you look into one of these you see more. Discover for yourself when you visit The Pear Tree, in the back gallery room, check out the Celestial Paperweights. (I just can't get a good photo for the website, sorry).
While we try to find US artists and companies, talent and creativity exists with all peoples. At a show we met a young Chinese couple who work with glass blowers creating one of a kind items - and very reasonably priced. The large correctly colored yellow-fin tuna and glow in the dark jellyfish paperweights are examples of their work.
Toilet FLUSH Handles
Sometimes one little thing will change the entire character of a room. Crafted in California, Carlos and his group design these simple to install toilet flush handles. 3 steps to get rid of that plastic Home Depot thing and add some class (or some fun) to the bath.
"December Diamonds" go ahead, admit one of mermen look just like a friend you know! (or a bartender you want at your next party).
